3 Ways to Get A Similar Look for Less Money

We all know that feeling - budgets tighten, prices are jumping, and yet we still need to acquire accessories with a certain look and feel for our boxspring beds. Details cannot be sacrificed, as they complete the product design and the overall look.

Is there a way out?

If you are in charge of purchasing furniture legs, you have come to the right place! We compiled a list of three easy ways to negotiate better prices for furniture legs without sacrificing the final look of the bed. All you need is a bit of flexibility!

Tip 1: Change the material, keep the color

Mother Nature is our favourite mentor. Look around and you will realise that mimicry is a pretty common survival mechanism in nature - harmless species mimic predators to stay safe while chameleons blend into their environment to stay hidden. If you cannot afford to buy the material you want, see if you can mimic it! Buy beech legs in oak color instead of oak, or steel legs in the color of brass. Experts may insist there is a significant difference, but for us the look is good enough, and the price is better. What else could we ask for?

Tip 2: Keep the shape, change the diameter

Sometimes decreasing the diameter of the legs by as little as 10-20 mm can allow producers to have less waste material and thus offer you a better price. There is no universal rule to follow here - just make sure you ask your supplier which leg dimensions would allow him to give you his best price, and see if there is an option good enough for you. We love it when what’s cheaper is also more sustainable!

Tip 3: Buy in bulk

We have to admit it - those of you who are naturally good at planning have a big advantage here! Create a good annual forecast and see if you can increase the order quantities to get better prices. Review the packaging, too. Could you possibly buy pieces instead of sets, and get rid of the boxes? While revising the structure of your costs may not always guarantee you savings, it will definitely give you clarity about your priorities. Before you know it, you will be generating cost-cutting ideas.

When in doubt, just ask your supplier what your viable options are - together you can generate the most creative solutions!
